TikTok Ads is listed in the AICMOHQ integration catalog so agents and founders can identify the relevant connection surface without guessing at unsupported capabilities.

Setup

What to expect

Create a token in TikTok Business Center → your app, with advertiser access.

Credentials are handled through the dashboard and are never published in this documentation.

Connect TikTok Ads data to AI agents

TikTok Ads data can help an AI assistant summarize spend and identify questions for a campaign review. First separate three things: connecting an advertiser account, reading performance reports, and making campaign changes. AICMOHQ’s connector is partial: token connect. Campaign launch is not live; a successful connection validates account access, not a completed reporting or campaign-management workflow.

AICMOHQ setup prerequisites

  1. Have a TikTok for Business advertiser account and access to the advertiser you want to connect. Organic TikTok login and an Events API token are not interchangeable with Marketing API advertiser authorization.
  2. Obtain a Business API access token through an authorized developer application with the appropriate access. TikTok’s Marketing API authorization guide explains advertiser authorization before token exchange. Developer-app approval and advertiser permission are separate prerequisites.
  3. In AICMOHQ’s dashboard Integrations page, choose TikTok Ads and enter the Business API access token and required Advertiser ID. Keep the token out of chat prompts and public code.
  4. AICMOHQ checks the supplied pair against TikTok’s advertiser-info endpoint before storing the connection. If the token cannot see that advertiser, check authorization and the ID rather than granting unrelated permissions.

Read data before asking an agent to act

TikTok’s Business API reference distinguishes reporting endpoints from campaign-creation endpoints. The report APIs require the relevant reporting permission; token validation alone does not establish that every reporting tool or metric is available. Check your app’s approved permissions, API version, advertiser authorization, supported dimensions and date ranges.

For an analysis you can audit today, export an authorized report from your reporting tool, remove unnecessary personal data and supply that file manually to your AI assistant. Include advertiser ID, currency, timezone, reporting window and attribution settings. This manual file workflow is not an automatic AICMOHQ reporting feature.

Example analysis prompt: “Using only these rows, group spend and clicks by campaign for this date window. Calculate CPC as spend divided by clicks, flag zero-click rows, cite campaign IDs, and list missing conversion fields. Do not infer ROAS or change campaigns.” Verify the calculations against Ads Manager before acting.

What about TikTok’s own MCP server?

TikTok separately documents connecting ChatGPT to the TikTok for Business MCP Server. That is TikTok’s own AI-client connection, not the AICMOHQ token form. Follow the provider’s current client, account and authorization requirements; inspect the actual tools and approval controls before connecting a live advertiser. Do not assume an MCP connection is inherently read-only.

Limits and troubleshooting

  • Token rejected: check whether it is valid for the Business API and authorized for the requested advertiser. Revoke exposed credentials and reconnect with a replacement.
  • Connected, but no report: connection validation checks advertiser identity. It does not guarantee a complete data sync, a reporting entitlement or an implemented AICMOHQ agent tool.
  • Metrics disagree: align date window, timezone, attribution settings, currency and report level before asking AI to explain a discrepancy. Missing data is not zero performance.
  • Write actions: campaign launch remains unavailable in AICMOHQ. Keep human approval and explicit budgets for any external tool that can change spend; this guide does not grant those permissions.

Provider documentation checked October 23, 2026. See TikTok Ads setup documentation, the separate organic TikTok connector, and the AICMOHQ MCP reference for current product boundaries.

Approval-first by default

A catalog entry does not grant an agent permission to publish or send anything. Connectors remain subject to workspace configuration, credits, provider limits, and human approval.
